Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has praised experienced campaigner Tomas Rosicky and feels he is a great role model for an aspiring football star.
The Czech is the man of the moment after his vital goals against West Bromwich Albion secured all three points last weekend, and The Ox feels the central midfielder has it all – vision, drive and finishing as well as being a genuine nice person.
The young and upcoming Oxlade-Chamberlain will look to put Rosicky’s traits into action in the likely absence of the midfielder against Norwich today, and has expressed his gratitude for his mentorship.
The England internatioanl revealed:
When you look at central midfielders and you have someone who can run with the ball it changes the dynamic of the game massively,” he told Arsenal Player. “Jack can do that, when he picks the ball up and drives at defences it changes the game.
It comes out wide with wingers more naturally, but when it happens in [central] midfield it is more unusual and teams aren’t expecting it. It cuts teams open and makes things happen – Tomas does that amazingly well.
He can turn and drive and shoot, he is technically brilliant and his work rate is fantastic. He is a magnificent player.
The way he plays the game so positively, he is always looking to go forward and drive at defences. He takes risks and makes things happen.
He is also one of the nicest guys I know. You can have a good laugh and joke with him, but when it comes to football he is always trying to help me.
With his experience he is always giving me advice, but in a nice way, and helps to bring you along and be a good professional. He is a great lad to have in the dressing room.
