Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made his first start against Coventry City since the opening day of the season, with the Gunners winning 4-0 thanks to two goals Lukas Podolski and one each for Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla.
The Ox lined up alongside Jack Wilshere in the centre of midfield in their FA Cup tie at Emirates and added plenty of spark against the lower league side.
Oxlade-Chamberlain provided a preview of things to come for the Gunners in the 12th minute with a menacing shot from 25 yards the box, but he was unable to keep it down.
Comfortable in possession, the England international exercised plenty of composure in the heart of midfield and displayed his aptitude for opening play with ease with pinpoint long passes and fluent movement.
His pace and trickery makes him lethal in the counter attack as we saw glimpses of against Coventry, and while he may not have got on the scoresheet or grabbed an assist, it was overall an encouraging 70 minute performance from the 20-year-old.
Next up Southampton which he will once again be hoping to play a part in.
