Chambo set to be O2 poster boy?

Gunners ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could sign a lucrative deal to become the new poster boy for the mobile company O2 according to the Daily Mail.

The winger has his agents entering negotiations with the former Arsenal sponsor, with a yearly payout believed to be in the seven-figure range. He will become the new face for the telephone company, and the contract could run for as long as 2016 – the same as his current Arsenal deal.

The England international is now a household name after superb performances for the Gunners last season earned him a summer call-up for the Three Lions, and after a bright Euro 2012 performance he has cemented himself as a senior international player at the age of 19.

Over the summer he also took over the reigns as the main figure in many of Arsenal’s advertising campaigns, being preferred ahead of fellow England internationals Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott, as well as making the cover of the new EA Sports game FIFA 13.

The Ox also has signed numerous deals with industry-leading companies such as Nike, Disney and EA Sports, and now he will go one step further and become the number one marketing initiative behind O2 campaigns.

This is another big step forward into the limelight for the talented youngster who just over a year ago was playing League One football with Southampton. Congratulations to the Ox, he’ll be rolling in the money now!
